Dear Chairman Kim,

It was a great pleasure to have breakfast with you on January 7 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and to learn of the diverse activities of AMCHAM Korea. I am deeply  impressed by the range of your engagement with the American and Korean business communities and by the deep commitment demonstrated by you, and by your excellent staff, to promoting American business, and American values, here in South Korea.

I personally feel that every action I take in Korea as a professor, or as the head of a think tank, must represent the best of American values.

I greatly value my membership in the American Chamber of Commerce Korea and I find that your work is critical to Americans like me engaged with Washington D.C., and with Seoul, in a broad discussion about education, research, diplomacy and security.

I am particularly interested in US-Korea cooperation in science (and security). As you know, I have worked on numerous joint research projects involving Korean and American research institutes and universities over the 12 years I have been in Korea. I worked on similar international collaboration with the Republic of Korea when I was a professor at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign.

I am writing you today regarding the commitment of AMCHAM Korea, and the United States as a whole, to science and technology that plays a positive role in society. We have a duty to hold up the best of American values for all Koreans to witness.

AMCHAM Korea currently has on its board of governors Mr. Dave (Dongwook) Oh, the Country Manager for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Korea.

As you know, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals has been at the center of an enormous controversy regarding the promotion of so-called vaccines for the COVID19 virus. Numerous renowned experts have testified that not only is this virus not particularly dangerous, but that the concept of a vaccine for such a virus is not supported by the science.

Yet Pfizer is promoting a COVID19 vaccine containing modified RNA that has been proven to damaging to the DNA of healthy people, and that has not been subject to extensive animal testing.

Pfizer Pharmaceutical’s promotion of this COVID19 vaccine, and its lobbying to make the vaccine mandatory in the Republic of Korea, is considered by me, and by numerous American experts, to be deeply troubling.

We are also deeply concerned that AmCham Korea should speak in favor of this vaccine granted the deep uncertainty among experts its need and its utility.

The overwhelming sentiment among the experts whom I know is that sales and the distribution of the COVID19 vaccine must be stopped immediately.

I call upon you today to have AMCHAM Korea to open up a transparent and science-based debate on the validity of these vaccines for COVID19.

Granted the deep ethical questions concerning the specific promotion of vaccines by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, I request that you formally remove Mr. Dave Oh from the board of governors of AMCHAM immediately.

In fact, so dangerous and unethical is the promotion of this COVID19 vaccine by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and other firms that I  request (on behalf of many Americans whom I am happy to document at a later date) that Pfizer’s status as a member of AMCHAM Korea be suspended pending an international scientific review.

I am happy to provide you detailed medical reviews demonstrating why the COVID19 vaccine is ineffective and why the COVID19 vaccine promoted by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals specifically is a risk.

Let us set up a meeting as soon as possible. I will be happy to invite a group of leading Korean scientists (and even have a video linkup with American experts as well) and I recommend that we have others present from AMCHAM Korea and from the US Embassy for a broad discussion of the COVID19 vaccine.

If it can be proven that individuals, or corporations, were involved in the process of promoting dangerous pharmaceuticals without sufficient testing, or scientific evidence for their effectiveness, such individuals can, and will, be subject, to the severe legal consequences.

I highly recommend that all of us be extremely careful in every step of this process of evaluating the status of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in AMCHAM Korea and the utility of AMCHAM’s promotion of vaccines for COVID19 as we can be sure that our actions are be watched with interest around the world. The global stature of the United States in general, and of AMCHAM in specific, is at stake.

1월 7일 그랜드 하얏트 호텔에서 아침 식사를 함께하고 AMCHAM 코리아의 다양한 활동을 알게되어 정말 기뻤습니다. 또한 이번 기회에 AMCHAM 의 미국과 한국 비즈니스 커뮤니티간의 다양한 참여와 훌륭한 직원들이 한국에 다양한 미국의 가치와 미국 기업을 홍보하기 위한 헌신에 깊은 감명을 받았습니다.

개인적으로 저는 교수로서 학자로서 또 싱크탱크의 수장으로서 한국이 취하는 모든 협력이 미국의 가치관과 대한미국 의 가치관을 균형맞게 대변할수있어야 한다고 믿습니다.

저는 미국 상공회의소에 소속된 회원임을 매우 영광으로 생각하고 있으며 교육, 연구, 문화, 외교, 안보에 관한 폭넓은 토론에서 워싱턴 D.C와 친밀하게 작업하는 저같은 미국인이 서울시와도 함께 협력해 나아가는것이 매우 중요하다는것을 잘 알고 있습니다.

특히 저는 과학(안보)에 대한 한미협력에 신중한 촞점을 두고 있습니다. 아시다시피, 저는 한국에서 12년 동안 한미 연구기관, 대학등 다양한 공동 연구 프로젝트를 꾸준히 진행해 왔습니다. 저는 일리노이 대학교 어바나 샴페인 대학교 교수로 재직할 때 한국(및 일본)과 유사한 국제 적 협력에도 동참해왔습니다.

저는 오늘 AMCHAM가 헌신적으로 코리아와 미국 전체를 위하여 첨단 과학기술로 긍정적 헌신을 해온것에 대하여 높이 평가합니다. 우리는 모든 한국인이 목격할 수 있는 미국의 진심어린 의도와 가치를 최대한 존중해야하며 지켜야 할 의무가 있습니다.

AMCHAM 코리아는 현재 화이자제약 의국가매니저 인 데이브(동욱) 총재의 이사회에 참여하고 있습니다.

아시다시피 화이자 제약은 소위 COVID19 바이러스에 대한 백신 홍보에 관한 엄청난 논쟁의 중심에 있었습니다. 수많은 저명한 전문가들은 이 바이러스가 특히 위험하지 않고 바이러스 무의미한 백신의 개념일 뿐만 아니라 화이자 COVID19 백신에는 건강한 사람들의 DNA에 극도로 손상을 입히고 수많은 추가 질병을 일으킬 수 있는 변형된 RNA가 포함되어 있다고 증언했습니다.

화이자제약이 COVID19 백신을 홍보하고 한국에서 백신을 의무화하기 위한 로비는 매우 비윤리적이며 저와 수많은 미국 전문가들도 이 화이자 COVID19 백신의 판매와 유통을 즉시 중단해야 한다고 생각합니다.

저는 오늘 AMCHAM 코리아가 화이자 제약 COVID19 백신 홍보에 대한 반대를 분명히 표명하고  AMCHAM의 이사회에서 데이브 오 씨의 즉각 제직을 강력히 촉구합니다. 사실 화이자 제약에 의한 COVID19 백신의 홍보는 국제 과학 검토에 입각하여 또한 제가 AMCHAM코리아의 한 회원으로서 화이자의 지위를 보류할 것을 요청해야 한다고 생각합니다.

COVID19 백신이 왜 효과가 없는지 또 화이자 제약이 추진하는 COVID19 백신이 왜 극히 위험한 이유에 대한 세밀한 의학적 분석과 과학적 참조 자료를 기꺼이 제공해드릴 의향도 있습니다.

가능한 한 빨리 회의를 준비했으면 합니다. 한국을 대표하는 과학자들을 속히 바른 시일내에 초청하는것이 시급하며(심지어 미국 전문가들과도 비디오 연계를 할 수 있음) AMCHAM 한국과 미국 대사관에서 폭넓은 논의를 위해 다른 사람들이 참석하도록 권고합니다.

마지막으로 저는 누군가가 이번 상황의 심각성을 과소 평가하는 것을 원하지 않습니다. 한미 모두가 합심하여 조용하고 객관적이며 또한 냉철한 과학적 방식으로 이 백신 문제를 해결하기를 바랍니다. 양심적 미국인 한사람으로서 또한 인간으로서 학자로서 진정한 책임이 있다고 보기 때문입니다.

과학적으로 효과가 입증되지 증거없는 위험한 의약품을 홍보하는 과정에 직접 또는 간접적으로 참여하는 사람들은 모두 중한 법적 처벌 대상이 되어야만합니다. AMCHAM 코리아의 화이자 제약의 현황에 현명하게 대처하는 이 과정에서 모두가 매우 신중해야할것입니다. 미국의 국제적 위상과 AMCHAM의 대한 신뢰가 위태로워질수도 있습니다.

시간을 주셔서 다시한번 감사드리며 조만간 사무실이나 편리한 장소에서 꼭 만나뵐 수 있기를 고대합니다.
